Description of players during the warm up

Been to 5 games this season but the first time I made it in to watch the warm up. Has this been happening during every warm up at the OS?

"This is Pedro Obiang, a Spanish player signed from Sampdoria, he plays centre midfield and has recently got his starting place in the team, etc"

They did one for Aaron Cresswell as well, really cringeworthy stuff. Great for the plastics and newbies I suppose...

Yeah that's true. Obviously most of us know the squad pretty well.

I really can't say the idea of this happening for the supposed benefit to others in any way upsets or annoys me though. I'd have appreciated it when I was a little kid.

Actually now I think about it ,my 9 year old noticed it would be more accurate. I don't even listen to the gibberish. It's only after she asked my why the announcer was talking about Cresswell that I even noticed.

It was really strange, the big screens showed the player warming up whilst the tannoy was stating their name, what position they play in and facts about them.

Guess the biggest point Scorch is that our fans should know who the team are anyway, without some plum telling us.

It's normally kids who know the players better than the adults due to being them in the playground every day, so can only be for the utter plastics and foreigners.

Never noticed this. Does it happen?

Can't say it would particularly bother me and if it gets the kids and newbies more invested in the team then is it really such a bad thing?

It would be hilarious if a member of who was selected each home game to give a synopsis of each player during warm ups.
